Welcome to 'In Touch' the new site about sex, sexual health and relationships especially for young disabled people...
All disabled people have a right to accurate and accessible information on sex, sexual health, sexuality and safer sex. So here, you can:
- find out information about sex and relationships
- get lots of links to other really good sites
- have fun! – e.g. try our new interactive game that helps you think through a range of scenarios to do with sexual health
- help change services for the future by taking part in our survey
- check out the meaning of words and terms used in our game and survey
- find out about the partners working with us on the project
Some parts of this site feature frank information about sex, sexual health and sexuality with some candid accounts of personal experiences – if you are under 16, parental guidance is recommended.
The site is currently being developed but soon there will also be:
- a forum and/or notice board where you can exchange ideas with other young disabled people
- an ‘ask the expert’ facility so you can get answers important to you
- a gallery where you can access a range of things created by young disabled people such as videos, stories, pictures, case studies and a whole lot more
- information and fact sheets
- and, not forgetting the ‘oldies’ we will have a market place for professionals where resources for training, policies etc will be available to share and download
We want to provide information and resources so that you can make informed, safer choices about the sex you choose to have (which might be not having sex at all). We believe that giving clear, forthright information on sex and relationships is the best way to keep you safe and reduce your chances of getting STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) and unwanted pregnancies.
We always welcome suggestions on how to improve the site, so please email us here with your comments: innovation@lcdisability.org
