On Saturday 5 October, members of the legendary RAF No. 617 ‘Dambusters’ Squadron embarked on a heroic challenge to run 700 miles in just 7 days
to raise money for our charity.
The run started at the site of the very first Cheshire home
, Le Court in Hampshire, and ends at RAF Lossiemouth near Inverness, the home of the Dambusters, on the afternoon of Friday 11 October.
The 700-mile route is passing through landmarks in Dambusters history, and will be a great opportunity for local people all over the country to come out, cheer on and sponsor the Dambusters as they pass through their town. The money raised will help us to provide unparalleled care for people with severe disabilities.

The Dambusters Run
is part of our partnership with 617 Squadron
marking the 70th anniversary of their formation. Our founder, Group Captain Leonard Cheshire, commanded the squadron during World War II.
As well as receiving overwhelming support from the RAF No. 617 Squadron, the Dambusters Run has also been sponsored by Howden Joinery
— who also has a team of five runners participating on the first day of the event — Thwaites
and Marshall of Cambridge (Holdings) Limited
We would also like to thank Next
, Purchasing Support Services
, Peterhouse Capital
for their support.
