LEONARD CHESHIRE DISABILITY PARTICIPANT CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. I apply for a Guaranteed Entry in the 2011 Brighton Marathon (“the Run”) with Leonard Cheshire Disability.

2. I understand that Guaranteed Entries on the Run are limited, subject to availability, and that this application for a Guaranteed Entry in the Run is subject to written acceptance by Leonard Cheshire Disability.

3. I am currently sufficiently well and fit to participate in the Run

4. I will adhere to any guidance relating to health, age, sponsorship or other matters issued by the race organisers or Leonard Cheshire Disability

5. If this application is not accepted, Leonard Cheshire Disability will promptly return my £40 registration fee, but the fee will not be returnable in any other circumstances.

6. If I am accepted for a Guaranteed Entry, I commit to raise as much as possible (at least the minimum sponsorship as set by The Charity (TBC)) in addition to my registration fee.

7. I agree that prior to the event my registration fee of £40 is only refundable if for any reason Leonard Cheshire Disability does not offer me a guaranteed place or if I take up a ballot place offered to me by the race organisers. My registration fee is not refundable in the event that I am unable to run through injury or for any other reason.  After the event, my registration fee will only be refunded on written request if I have collected an agreed minimum sponsorship amount as set by the Charity
(TBC) on top of my £40 registration fee and sent it to Leonard Cheshire Disability on or before 29 May 2011.

8. I note that Leonard Cheshire Disability will take into account the sponsorship amount I expect to raise when it considers whether to offer me a guaranteed place in the 2011 Brighton Marathon, and that Leonard Cheshire Disability’s advised individual target sponsorship is to be confirmed (in addition to the registration fee of £40).

9. I will only collect sponsorship once you have accepted my application. I will encourage sponsors to make payments by Gift Aid where possible.

10. The registration fee of £40 and a part of the monies raised by me will be used by Leonard Cheshire Disability to meet both the costs of obtaining a Guaranteed Entry and any other costs relating to the Run. The balance will be used by Leonard Cheshire Disability for its general charitable purposes.

11. I commit to forwarding all funds raised to Leonard Cheshire Disability no later than one month after the Run (cheques should be made payable to Leonard Cheshire Disability)

12. Should I for any reason decide not to, or be unable to, either take up or use a Guaranteed Entry allocated to me, I will inform Leonard Cheshire Disability immediately and return all materials to Leonard Cheshire Disability.

13. If I do not take part in the Run, I will ask my sponsors whether they require any monies to be returned to them, and will return monies to them if they require it.

14. I agree that neither Leonard Cheshire Disability nor the organiser shall be liable for my death, personal injury or any loss or damage sustained by me as a consequence of my participation in the 2011 Brighton Marathon except to the extent that the same is caused by its negligence.

15. I understand that Leonard Cheshire Disability may use a photographer to capture images at the event. I consent to Leonard Cheshire Disability, and all of its authorised third parties, using any or all of this material for fundraising and promotional purposes. I understand that any or all of this material will become part of Leonard Cheshire Disability's image library, and will be stored for a period of up to 5 years. I further consent to Leonard Cheshire Disability using my image and name in press releases immediately following the event.
