Can Do Volunteering
Do you want to get involved in a new, exciting project?
Do you...
- enjoy art, music, computers or just talking?
- like the idea of gaining new skills in IT, presentations?
- feel passionate about local issues and want to have a voice?
We are flexible, open to ideas and hope you can join Leonard Cheshire Disability’s ‘Can Do’ project.
What we can do for you?
We will provide training (if required), expenses, and offer you support to co-ordinate your activities. Volunteering can be combined with study or work and is accredited to gain a variety of awards. ‘Can Do’ will look great on your CV!
What is the ‘Can Do’ Project?
‘Can Do’ is for young volunteers aged between 16-25. By getting involved in one of the new Leonard Cheshire projects, you can learn new skills, develop existing skills, support others and have fun at the same time! We have over 3000 opportunities for disabled volunteers, and if you’re not disabled, there is a place for you too!
A Leonard Cheshire Disability Can Do website will be launched soon, so please watch this space!
Some of our volunteers have:
- set up campaign groups about local issues
- made new friends in drama groups
- given talks to schools
- enjoyed meeting new people!
All have gained confidence, learnt new things, and most importantly have had fun.
