Take up a cycle challenge for 2012!

With the Olympics and Paralympics coming to London in 2012 you might be inspired to get involved in a new sport yourself! We've got some great cycle rides on offer to suit every ability.

We hope you're as excited as we are about London 2012 so we're giving you the chance to get involved and take part in an event of your own. We've got two fantastic bike rides for you to choose from which you can take part in without missing a minute of the games.

Nightrider

Destination: London
Challenge: Cycle 100km through the capital overnight.
Date: 9 June 2012

The first cycle you can take on for Leonard Cheshire Disability is Nightrider, an exciting moonlit ride through London. With the date set for June 2012 it's the perfect way to get ready for the games, you could even try out a few of the Olympic routes as part of your training!

While the capital sleeps, thousands of cyclists will be pedalling through the night to raise money for charity. Along the way you will take in some of London's most famous streets and landmarks including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye, the Royal Albert Hall, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, to name a few.

Cycle the Cape

Destination: Cape Town
Challenge: Cycle 320 miles in 6 days from Storms River to the iconic Cape of Good Hope.
Date:15 August to 30 August (or for a longer trip 15 August to 5 September)

For those of you who want a tougher challenge we've got Cycle the Cape, an incredible South African adventure on two wheels. The date is carefully placed so you can take part in this adventure between the Olympic and Paralympic games.

The backdrop to this cycle is the incredible Garden Route in South Africa. As you feel the sun on your face and the wind whipping through your hair you will be able to take in the breathtaking sights of the many lakes, mountains, forests, and beaches that line this amazing coastal route.
